It could be some time until Barrow AFC play again, due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, but manager Ian Evatt kept in touch with their supporters during a Q&A session on the club’s Twitter.

I was glad to be able to raise the need to support Barrow AFC in the House of Commons earlier today.

📉 Through no fault of their own, the Bluebirds are struggling financially as a result of Coronavirus when they should be celebrating promotion and be on the up.

🔜 The Minister started the debate by saying that a support package was being worked on. I'm delighted, but we need to ensure that it's not just about keeping clubs like Barrow AFC on ice until the virus passes - we need to get fans back safely, and ensure that the vital work that the club and the trust does in our community continues.

🤝 I'll keep working with the Minister on this and keep you updated when the support package is agreed.
